Directed by Stephen Anderson, Meet The Robinsons (2007) is the child’s old tale of trying and failing and seeing where you belong. To take all that you are and put that forward, with an ache of why you were never wanted in the first. If only for the chance to see what you would become, you can know that you’re on the path, to who you can be. A truth that prevails the travel of time.
This post is about the movie Meet The Robinsons. Starring Daniel Hansen, Jordan Fry, Wesley Singerman, and Matthew Jasten.
Keep Moving Forward
A Reflection On Fragile Hope and Hopeful Persistence
What are you to make of yourself when left alone to discover who that’s supposed to be? It’s the effort that fails and fails and fails again to know you must try and try and try again. To move beyond now to adventure the known, to leave it all behind, from friend to foe. All that lives on is what’s given a chance, to make a new path, to weave your own strand. Your life could lead not to what it’s meant to be; it’s all up to you to:
Keep moving forward.
To The Future
“You have got to get out of the past and look to the future”
~ Mildred
To what do you owe your beginnings and does it really change who you can be? Beginnings are wrapped in both history and mystery, forging the makings of what is to come of you. A thinking pursuit that marries itself to home and love and family. To think that no one wants you, brings about the hope and knowing there very well is the one person that does. It is from the greatest failings, the ones thrust upon you, that the makeup of your being can be formed and made alive. A pursuit of chance, to bring about another believer.
Unlocking the secrets of the brain takes a lot longer than expected. Don’t rummage around what has been, what was once seen; let such be still and get out of the past, to make way for so much more. You’re a smart kid, with a mind vast and infinite. But some things are out of your control, all wrong doings aren’t on you. So you’re going to mess up, that much is true, but the hearted know you didn’t mean to. The demise of others is how some people win, and a future like that is misery.
It may feel like time to tear it all out, that it’s all a mistake without a shadow of doubt. To tell yourself now, what you can’t be then, but remember nothing will stop the future. What if it’s so much more than you can imagine, a consequence of what you’ve been through? You fail once but that you can fix it, trust in a hope anew.
From Failing You Learn
“From failing you learn, from success not so much.”
~ Lewis
Be wary of those with hardened hearts — can you really say they are not lost? I wonder if this shadow of seeking is worth it, to know only grudge and let bitterness prevail. And yet, even when misplaced, there is still much for you to discover, as if it’s all been waiting for you. With so much to meet, and so much to learn, it’s hard to imagine there being any other way.
Though other ways do exist, sometimes a single moment is enough to leave unhealing scars. The kind that fester and boil within you — feelings locked away that begin to fuel your actions. With hate as your ally, and so little given to thought, one can slip into indulging such horrid things. So don’t be mad that you tried. That is the best that you can do. There is no such thing as failure here.
At the fine line between trying and failing lives a pocket of acceptance — a place you could very well remain. And in that same space exists something beyond it: the quiet protection of those who stay. To be future enough to have those who would sacrifice so much for you. And though it’s a life you don’t yet have, it is only for now — not forever.
Your Future’s About To Change
“You just focus on the bad stuff when all you had to do was let go of the past and keep moving forward.”
~ Lewis
For what is the origin of your story? Is it of soured dreams and the misplaced projection of your shortcomings? Or wantings that far exceed your nature, exercising potentials of evil too far gone? Both devise plans of deception and woe, with the greatest fault of those who indulge in it. Do not blame others for what you messed up yourself, when your life is of the makings of you. Focus not on the bad — what is there to do, but let go of the past and keep moving forward?
All has not yet happened, and you can fix things, you have to know that you can. Take a good look around to the future that is going to change. As thinkings are deceiving, and wantings can be too, but that can be saved before the end. Much better ways can be of what’s to come, so long as your choices are right and keep moving forward.
So find out for yourself, you’re one smart kid. What is there to change of the past, when so much lives on in the future? When you can see where you go wrong, you very well find where you can go right. It’s the heart that really matters in the end. As our lives are made in little wonders, in twists and turns of fate.
To The Believer
There are those among us who know what it is to live in the fragile hope of something more — to have seen, and yet be left with a place within where the affirmation of our spirit feels less than assured, far less than where it ought to be. Such happenings arrive from pretenses beyond our time, and still we are left to carry the ache they leave behind.
I cannot say I have been spared from such scars, though I know that I have been healed. Doubt wearies me still. And yet, I have always known — and continue to know — that there has long existed something I have held onto. Something akin to a faint whisper, a promised friend, an ever-present companion, quietly reminding me that what lies ahead outweighs what has already been. Even as I do not see, and as I do not feel. For this reason, I hold hope, and I find my way back to where I first began.
This has taken a hold of my heart, by this very way I write these words to you. I encourage you to remain not discouraged, but to stay open to what we are invited into each and every day. Hope, faith, and love. For as love is the greatest, hope abides with life itself. Know this — there is always hope, and we are meant to keep moving forward.
Of Scripture
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.”
~ II Corinthians 4:16-18
