This post is about the movie Wicked: For Good. Directed by Jon M. Chu. Starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
A Change For The Better
What is to be said of the world of opposing prepositions? Where high skies sweep away the dowry of vain intent and even the good know not from the wicked. It is a play to the very ambiguity that leaves morality to the tune of one’s own song. Courage, pain, heart, home; all brick the path to what you hope for, watered by lies that remain believed. No good deed remains unpunished. Beneath the surface of a beautiful life, the truth has a way of seeping in. A reason that shows you, you can be changed for good.
Who are you to be and become, when left to contend the wicked?
Prefer to listen? Hear my reading of the reflection aloud.
Wicked: For Good sweeps in as the final act to this dirge of human nature. With findings that dreams are not all what they’re made out to be; rather, belief matters so much more. We are called to question if we are all but good, or if good is left to the whim of the maker. A conclusion that you couldn’t be happier with, right?
Key Quotes & Reflections
She’s So Good
She Will Be Eliminated. A take down of what’s deemed not worthy to fly, who is to blame for all those who then try?
She’s So Good. So it seems. When crowded by enough to sing your praises, then praised, you’ll be.
You’ve Got Everything You Wanted. When everyone loves you, when you have everything you’ve wanted, what then do you need? How can anything be missing?

The Story of Your Braverism. So long as they believe it, they will know it. By tellings and not showings, and still do they love it. Fabrications of thinking; I plead with you, give it no pause.
You Can’t Leave Because You Can Resist This. Allured by glamour, to thy self is the glory. A pulling of the flesh, for them to know your own story. A wanting of something more, a feeling less lonely.
If It Makes You Happy I’ll Do It. A submission to that which pleases for now, with a longing to find what has not yet come.
A Place That’s Familiar
I Think It’s Time I Moved On. Often, times, are meant to be had, not forced beyond your will. You’ll do best to move on any way that you can, or else live on to see what should have never been.
This is Not The Oz I Remember. A home is never a place but a people. If the home has lost its way, look to those who inhabited it. Where did doctrine once lie, and where did it go?
This Is Our Home. It Belongs To All Of Us. And so it does, but now it is possessed by something greater than our own being. How much of it remains ours when it loses what it had to begin with?
We Just Can’t Fight Anymore. The pain is too great, and living not once what it was. Which path are you to choose?
She’s As Wicked As You Are. Rising anger when pained by others. The upright are given the blame, when trespassers suffer.
I’ve Tried Everything That I Could For You and It’s Never Been Enough. Only so much there is for you to do. For it is their life, and they must choose.
There’s No Going Back
This is Between The Wizard and I. Learn the battles in which you are to fight, stray away from that which is not yours to wrestle with. Always there will be collateral damage.
They’re Never Gonna Stop Believing. Seeds planted so deep and grown for long thereafter, prove themselves as seemingly impossible to be uprooted.
They’ll Call You Wonderful. When no longer a matter of fact or reason, but only of agreeance, then all are to say you are wonderful. Dreams the way we planned them. All to do with you.
Some Animals Cannot Be Trusted. Malicious or naive, diluted or complicit — all are the same, none are innocent, and evil must be stopped.
I’m Not A Bad Guy. Say this as you may, but by their fruits you will know them.
I Will Fight You Until The Day I Die. Any insurgency on good is to be fought, but by what standing are you to fight evil?
Have You Misplaced Your Mind? No, it has never been more clear.
I’m Not That Girl. Wishing only wounds the heart when we wish for what was never meant to be.
No Good Deed
Will I See You Again? To lose once more what finally came to you. You can only hope it comes again.
What A Touching Moment of Grief. The fallacy. The audacity. The extremes to which mental breaking meets collapse. Is this how you really feel?
He Doesn’t Love You. A feeling unquestionably unbearable, but a knowing entirely certain. What are you to grieve in a moment like this?
In The Name of Goodness Stop. What name really do you presume this to be?
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished. As what contends with good is not of its sort, and you are left to tend its pieces.
A Beautiful Life
“Cause all that’s required to live in a dream is endlessly closing your eyes.”
~ Galinda

It’s Time For Her Bubble to Pop. To act in unbelief, a life built on lies. What is it you receive, when you come to know?
They Need Someone To Be Wicked, So That You Can Be Good. It is a nature we cannot resist, workings that cannot be refused. For there to be good, there too must be wicked.
We Can’t Let Good Be Just A Word, It Has to Mean Something. It is far greater than a single word and derived way of being. Good is certain, absolute, and it should be known to all but not as you see it as known unto you.
You Know, You’re The Only Friend I’ve Had. A special gift, what a good friend can do.
I Have Been Changed, For Good. A good we can pass on, and what we are to keep.
I Ask For Forgiveness. For the things you’ve done that hurt, there often is a blame to share. Forgiveness is a one way street; reconciliation, a path for two.
Changed For Good
She Was Yours All Along. The only question there is to ask now — what have I done?
You Have Caused Great Harm, You Will Leave Oz Today. Your admission. Your penance. Exile for the man already displaced.
You Truly Are Good, Not Yet. Perfect in this we can never be, but we must, once we know and seek.
Not a Rumor, A Fact That is True. Because now the aim is good.
Because I Knew You. You’re better than you once were and now onto the aim of the best you can ever be.
To The Believer
“I’m limited. Just look at me. Not with your eyes, but with theirs.”
~ Elphaba
Some sin is lived into before they are chosen, emerging itself among infinite possibilities.
In this life, we suffer at the whim of both nature and nurture, forces standing as complementary and competing, ushering you to semblances of truth or something far from it. You are either wholly unaware of defiant open rebellion or misdirected, darkly obedient to a lie. Some sins are committed with clenched fists. Others, with empty hands. Both still need the cross.
I plead you all as you dawn onto others the very controls that wary you all the same; discern conviction from temptation, truth from lack of compassion. Empathy is not approval. It is a posture that allows truth to be heard. As you wrestle with natures that you know yourself, practice that which our heavenly freely does unto us.
Fly in the knowing of the truth written on our hearts, not bubbling yourself in diluted, naïve dispositions. Attention is not love, efforted goodness is. Surely, I cannot say all happenings are for a reason, but in part they are so. Above all, our Father is sovereign, present, and redemptive even in the admits of real human freedom and real evil. Through Grace, we can do all that we couldn’t do; we have been shaped by what we have known but know this — you can be changed for good.
“For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit”
Titus 3:3-5
